Promising future treatments for acne

Today the research proves that getting rid of acne once and for all is possible. a permanent cure can be achieved by destroying the sebaceous glands and the bacteria it accumulates. Some light sources are used to move deeper into the sebaceous glands and the most promising technologies under consideration are as follows. Intense pulsed light (IPL) This is a technique of focusing a wide range of wavelengths into a single beam. It employs wavelengths from the visible band and those close to the infrared wavelength. It is basically a device that produces pulsed lights where different wavelengths are selected through a cut off filter. When these high wavelength lights are targeted over the sebaceous gland, its growth can be trimmed. Pulsed dye laser When it comes to complete eradication of acne, science has thus far failed to address the issue. However, pulsed dye laser is a promising solution. In this technique, bright light of a specific wavelength is targeted over blood vessels. It will be effective in improving the appearance of acne scars. Diode laser This technique focuses invisible infrared frequencies of higher wavelengths to remove acne as well as acne scars. Pulsed light and heat energy therapy As the name suggests, this is a combination of light and heat to target two main causes of acne. It will not only eradicate acne spots but also help in the removal of sebaceous glands. Corticosteroid injections In case of unbearably big acne cysts, covering up with makeup will not be enough. Corticosteroid injections will come to the rescue and they can offer a quick fix for the situation. This will require assistance from a dermatologist who will directly inject a solution to reduce swelling. The cyst will eventually shrink over the next couple of days. But mark my words, it's not wise to try and treat it yourself. Avoid applying aspirin Not every home remedy is effective against acne. A common remedy is to apply crushed aspirin paste. This is suggested in case you don't have over-the-counter acne creams for your skin. Actually the ingredient salicylic acid is believed to do the trick here. But don't forget aspirin has other ingredients that can cause more irritation.
